Opthal Hospital in Panchkula
Vision is arguably the most cherished of all our senses, connecting us to the world, enabling independence, and enriching every experience of daily life. At Park Hospital, Panchkula, our Department of Ophthalmology is committed to protecting, restoring, and enhancing the vision of every patient who comes to us with an experienced team of ophthalmologists, optometrists, and ophthalmic nurses providing comprehensive eye care across all ages and conditions.
Our ophthalmology program covers the full spectrum of eye disease from refractive errors, dry eye, and conjunctivitis to complex conditions, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal detachment, cataracts, corneal disease, and uveitis. Our diagnostic suite is equipped with slit-lamp biomicroscopy, optical coherence tomography (OCT), fundus photography, visual field analysis, corneal topography, and biometry, providing the comprehensive data needed for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Cataract surgery is one of the most commonly performed procedures in our ophthalmology department. Using modern phacoemulsification techniques and premium intraocular lens implants, including monofocal, multifocal, toric, and extended depth-of-focus lenses, our surgeons deliver outstanding visual outcomes with minimal recovery time. Refractive surgery, including LASIK, LASEK, and phakic intraocular lens implantation, is available for patients seeking freedom from glasses and contact lenses.
Glaucoma, the silent thief of sight, is a major focus of our department. Early detection through regular intraocular pressure measurement, optic nerve evaluation, and visual field testing is combined with medical, laser, and surgical management to halt disease progression and preserve vision. Diabetic eye disease is managed through retinal screening programs, laser photocoagulation, and intravitreal injections of anti-VEGF agents, protecting the vision of diabetic patients from the devastating consequences of proliferative retinopathy and macular oedema.
Paediatric ophthalmology, including amblyopia management, strabismus surgery, and paediatric cataract care, is an important subspecialty area within our department.
