Paediatric Surgery in Panchkula

Children present with surgical conditions that differ fundamentally from those seen in adults, and their care requires surgeons who combine exceptional technical skill with a deep understanding of childhood anatomy and physiology, as well as the emotional needs of young patients and their families. At Park Hospital, Panchkula, our Department of Paediatric Surgery provides expert, child-centered surgical care for infants, children, and adolescents from newborns with congenital abnormalities to teenagers requiring minimally invasive abdominal surgery.

Our paediatric surgeons are trained and experienced in the full range of paediatric surgical conditions, including congenital anomalies of the gastrointestinal tract, chest, abdominal wall, and genitourinary system; neonatal surgical emergencies; childhood appendicitis; intussusception; Hirschsprung's disease; pyloric stenosis; and paediatric hernias, undescended testes, and hydroceles. Our team also manages paediatric solid tumours, including Wilms' tumour, neuroblastoma, hepatoblastoma, and soft tissue sarcomas in close collaboration with our paediatric oncology team.

Minimally invasive surgery is a central pillar of our paediatric surgery program. Laparoscopic and thoracoscopic techniques are used extensively even in small infants to manage conditions including appendicitis, pyloric stenosis, reflux disease, achalasia, and chest lesions. The advantages of minimally invasive approaches, smaller incisions, less post-operative pain, faster recovery, and superior cosmetic outcomes are of particular value in children, who benefit from returning to their normal activities and development as quickly as possible.

Our neonatal surgical service provides urgent and emergency surgical care for newborns with conditions including oesophageal atresia, intestinal atresia, imperforate anus, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, abdominal wall defects (gastroschisis and omphalocele), and necrotizing enterocolitis in close collaboration with our neonatology and paediatric anaesthesia teams. Our paediatric urology program manages congenital urological anomalies, including hypospadias, vesicoureteric reflux, hydronephrosis, and posterior urethral valves.

We understand that surgery is a frightening prospect for both children and parents. Our entire team, from surgeons and anaesthesiologists to nursing staff, is trained in age-appropriate communication and family-centered care.
