Rheumatology
Rheumatology Hospital in Panchkula
Rheumatic diseases are a diverse group of conditions affecting the joints, muscles, bones, and the immune system, often causing chronic pain, stiffness, fatigue, and progressive disability if not accurately diagnosed and effectively managed. At Park Hospital, Panchkula, our Department of Rheumatology provides specialist, evidence-based care for the full spectrum of rheumatic and musculoskeletal conditions, helping patients manage their disease effectively, preserve joint function, and maintain the best possible quality of life.
Our rheumatologists are trained in the diagnosis and management of all forms of inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue disease, vasculitis, and crystal arthropathy. Rheumatoid arthritis, one of the most common and potentially destructive inflammatory joint conditions, is a particular area of expertise. Early, aggressive treatment with disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs), including conventional DMARDs and the newer biologic and targeted synthetic agents, is the cornerstone of our rheumatoid arthritis management strategy, with the goal of achieving disease remission and preventing structural joint damage.
Other conditions within our scope of practice include ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, reactive arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjögren's syndrome, systemic sclerosis, polymyositis, dermatomyositis, and vasculitic conditions such as giant cell arteritis and granulomatosis with polyangiitis. Gout and pseudogout, crystal-induced arthropathies that cause acute, intensely painful joint inflammation, are also frequently managed within our department.
Osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease are increasingly important areas of rheumatological practice. Our team provides comprehensive bone health assessment, including DEXA scanning, fracture risk stratification, and evidence-based pharmacological treatment to prevent fragility fractures in at-risk patients. Soft tissue rheumatism, including fibromyalgia, tendinopathy, bursitis, and mechanical back pain, is managed with a combination of physical therapy, pain management, and patient education.
Our rheumatology team works in close collaboration with orthopaedics, nephrology, dermatology, and ophthalmology, reflecting the systemic nature of many rheumatic conditions and the importance of integrated, multidisciplinary care.
